Every season there is a denim jacket in the lineup. It is a staple to the American wardrobe. Our denim jacket-black dyed with crystals is a new take on an old favorite.
So why have denim jackets always been so popular?
the origin of denim
Denim initially gained popularity in 1873 when Jacob W. Davis, a tailor from Nevada, manufactured the first pair of rivet-reinforced denim pants”. He later paired himself with dry goods wholesaler Levi Strauss & Co. to produce and manufacture heavy work clothing made of the indigo denim fabric.
Denim dyed indigo blue
Denim was originally dyed with a dye produced from the plant Indigofera tinctoria, but most denim today is dyed with synthetic indigo dye. In both cases, the yarn undergoes a repeated sequence of dipping and oxidation — the more dips, the stronger the color of the indigo.
denim made from cotton
“Denim is made from cotton. The cotton fiber is then spun into yarn. The yarn is dyed giving it color such as the classic denim blue. The yarn is then woven in a shuttle loom or projectile loom into denim”.
“After being made into an article of clothing, most denim articles are washed to make them softer and to reduce or eliminate shrinkage (which could cause the article to not fit properly after its owner washes it). This process is known as sanforization”.
Our denim jacket is better
Our denim jacket-black dyed with crystals is a new take on an old favorite, taking front and center stage. There are too many extras to compare it to the more ordinary counterparts.
Because of our unique hand dyeing process, it is much more versatile than the traditional blue or black denim. This new hand dyed blue denim jacket is transformed into a soft blackened-blue denim. It can be easily worn with blue jeans or a black skirt. No need to worry if the colors will match or go together anymore. Pair it with pants, skirts, or compliment your wardrobe in a variety of other ways. This jacket is always the perfect addition.
the embellishments we use
We have taken things a step further with rich embellishments of black netting and lace. On top of the lace, it has scattered black Swarovski crystals affixed to it. These crystals catch the sunlight with rainbow prisms. Strips of faux black leather garnish the edges of the collar and the bottom band. We use faux leather so the jacket is washable.
At the front, you will find black grommets and corset-like lacing that keeps time with the Sultry Lady Corset apparel and theme.
The finishing touch is the 12 beautiful Swarovski crystal rivet buttons encased in gunmetal settings. They catch the eye as they shine like diamonds.
Don’t leave home without this comfortable and versatile denim jacket-black dyed with crystals because it will become a staple in your wardrobe in winter and summer.
